Term Life Insurance in New Braunfels, With a Timeline Up Front

Term life protects the people who count on you for a fixed stretch of years. We help you settle on how long and how much. You also get an honest estimate of how long approval should take, and if that changes, you hear it from us first.

How term coverage works and who it suits

Of all the policy types, term life has the fewest moving parts. Your premium stays level for the number of years you choose. If you pass away inside that window, your beneficiary receives the coverage amount. If you outlive it, the policy simply ends, unless you renew it or convert it.

It makes the most sense when the need won't last forever. Kids grow up. A mortgage shrinks. A business loan gets paid off. Term life covers those years for less money than whole life or universal life, which stay in force for life and build cash value.

What usually worries people isn't the policy itself. It's not knowing how long the process runs or what comes next. So we map out each step at the start, give you a realistic window for every one, and call you when something shifts.

What we handle for you

A needs check before any quote
We look at your income, debts, kids and any coverage you already have through work. That tells us roughly how much coverage makes sense, so you are not sold more than you need.
Matching the term to your years
We line up the term length with the thing you are covering. A 30-year mortgage and a 20-year runway until the youngest finishes school call for different answers.
Quotes from more than one carrier
Carriers judge health and age differently. We compare a few and show you the options side by side by phone.
Filling out the paperwork together
The carrier will ask about your medical history, prescriptions, driving record and habits. We go over each question with you so nothing gets left blank or guessed at. Accurate answers on day one keep the file from getting held up later.
Exam scheduling and status updates
If the carrier wants a medical exam, we help set it up at a time that works for you. While underwriting runs, we check in and tell you where things stand, including any delay.
Naming who gets the money
We go over your primary and backup beneficiaries together. That way the coverage lands with the people you actually mean it for.

When term life starts to make sense

  • More kids at the dinner table

Each child adds years of people relying on your paycheck. Term life covers the stretch when they need it most.

  • A new mortgage

A big loan is a lot to leave behind. A term that matches the loan length means your family could keep the payments going. Mortgage Protection Insurance is another option worth comparing.

  • Your only coverage is through work

Employer plans often pay out just one or two times your salary. That coverage also tends to stop the day you leave the job. A personal policy goes wherever you go.

  • An old policy is about to run out

If your current term ends soon, renewal rates can jump sharply. It is easier to replace it while you are younger and healthier.

  • A business loan or partner depending on you

Debts and partners do not go away if you do. A term policy can cover that loan until it is paid off.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1

    A first phone call

We ask about your family, income and debts, and answer your questions. Most people have a clear sense of their options by the end of it.

  2. 2

    Quotes and a plan

We bring back a few options with the coverage amount, term length and premium for each. You pick, or you take time to think. No pressure either way.

  3. 3

    Application

We complete the application with you by phone. We tell you up front which steps the carrier will likely ask for, so nothing surprises you.

  4. 4

    Exam and underwriting

Some policies need a short exam with blood pressure and a blood sample, done where it suits you. Others skip the exam. Underwriting can take a few days or several weeks, especially if the carrier requests records from your doctor, and we call you when it moves.

  5. 5

    Approval and delivery

When the carrier says yes, we read through the issued policy together. We double-check who is listed to receive the money and settle the first premium. Then your coverage begins.

What moves the price of term life

Term life is usually the lowest-cost way to buy a large amount of coverage. Your exact premium depends on you and the policy you choose. We explain each factor so you can see why a quote is what it is.

Age
The younger you are when you buy, the lower the premium. That rate is locked for the whole term.
Health and tobacco use
Carriers look at your health history, medications, height and weight. Tobacco use raises the price more than almost anything else.
Coverage amount and term length
Bigger coverage amounts cost more. So does a longer stretch: going from 10 years to 30 raises the monthly premium, even when the face amount stays the same.
Riders
Extras cost extra. Coverage for your kids, or a feature that keeps the policy paid up if an injury or illness stops you from working, each bump the premium a little. We lay out what each one does and let you decide.

Term life questions we hear often

Something not covered here? (830) 494-0696

How soon could I be approved?

That turns on the carrier, the coverage amount, and your age and health. Some no-exam policies get a decision within days. Others run several weeks, usually while the carrier waits for your doctor's records. We give you an honest window up front and call you if it shifts.

Is a medical exam required?

Not in every case. Plenty of carriers have no-exam choices for some ages and coverage amounts. If an exam is required, it is brief and set for a time and place that suit you.

What happens once the term is up?

At the end of the term, the coverage lapses and you stop paying premiums. Some carriers allow yearly renewal, but each year is priced at your current age, so costs climb quickly. Others let you convert to permanent coverage with no new exam.

Could I move to whole life down the road?

Lots of term policies carry a conversion option for a certain number of years. It lets you switch to whole life or universal life without showing proof of health again. We confirm a policy has it before you buy.

How much coverage is right for me?

A usual place to begin is enough to cover several years of income, clear your debts and handle large costs ahead, like college. Rather than relying on a rule of thumb, we go through your real numbers with you.

Can I name a different beneficiary later?

Yes. Most carriers let you change beneficiaries whenever you want with a short form. It is worth looking them over after a marriage, divorce or the birth of a child.
